Description:
This boat is not a production-line built boat. We purchased the hull and deck from Catalina when they bought out Morgan Marine. It was an empty hull with only lead in the keel and a separate deck. We had the interior hull stringers made of 2 x 4 wolmanized wood and coated with fiberglass cloth and resin. The stringers are 2 ¼ thick with ½ thick epoxy. The hull is 1â thick fiberglass epoxy. Extra care was given to the interior mast-step for the 62 mast. Production boats previously had problems and we took care to beef up the mast-step to relieve downward force on the hull and stays. Catalina gave us all the extra parts they could find for the interior and we built, fabricated, and scoured salvage yards to find what we needed to complete a custom, comfortable living area.
