Wooden Ships Comments on this Mc Nulty Longstone Lugsail Dinghy Built for the present owner by Mc Nulty Boats, delivered in January 1999. Used by Mc Nulty at the London Boatshow in 1999 as a telling example of their work. Top quality construction as would be expected from Mc Nulty, complete with trailer, launching trolley, rig, oars and all over cover, this is a complete package. Having been stored largely indoors since new with sporadic use the dinghy is in very good order, but the varnish has suffered in places and will need some attention. A beautiful little boat in great condition. Length 12’ Construction Clinker planked in larch all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers. Sheer strake in mahogany with a full length oak rubbing strake. Oak inwhales with a reinforced rowing position each side. Mahogany transom with an iroko back bone and laminated iroko stem. Brass rubbing strip along the keel. Varnished mahogany thwarts with sawn oak hanging knees. Mahogany centreplate with a varnished mahogany centreboard case. Mahogany slatted sole boards. Varnished mahogany drop plate rudder with bronze hangings. Rig Standing lug rig on an unstayed varnished wooden mast with varnished wooden lug yard and boom. Tan terylene sail with a single reefing point. Equipment Fitted all over cover Galvanised road trailer with piggy back launching trolley Pair of oars and rowlocks Rig and mainsail Fishermans anchor with warp3 x buoyancy bags Trailer light board Towing straps.
