This is a turn-key boat. If you want to get on-the-water affordably, with a reliable boat (and trailer), this is it. I m selling my 1986 Baja SunSport 190 (open bow) I O, with OMC Cobra V6 4bbl. Even though I have thoroughly enjoyed this boat for the past 7 years, I need something larger to safely traverse Long Island Sound. I worked for years as an auto service technician, so I have done ALL the service work on this boat personally, using OEM or BETTER parts. The fuel system is COMPLETELY new, from the fuel fill all the way to the carburetor. All the fuel line is now stainless steel, and the fuel pump is also new, making the fuel system gasohol compatible. The ignition system is also completely new, with a new Marine Power distributor cables (eliminating the original breaker point ignition system), and a high voltage MSD ignition coil. The alternator is freshly rebuilt. The power trim motor, bilge blower, bilge pump, compass, roller tip rocker arms (in the engine), outdrive water pump, gimbal bearing seal are also all new. The boat originally came equipped with power steering, and it still works GREAT. No more fighting the steering wheel from propeller torque. And the gel coat is still in good condition as well (just needs a quick wash and a buffing). To me, if a boat isn t reliable, its worthless. Being stranded out on the water sucks. I was always the guy towing everybody else back to the dock. This boat runs STRONG! Up to about 36 mph it sips gas like a 4 cylinder engine. Above 38 mph, when secondaries on the carb open up, it drinks more like a small V8. Top speed is high 40 s mph. I installed a ski eye for towing water skiers wake boarders. A boat like this NEW, on-the-trailer, would probably cost around $50,000 from any of the local marinas.
