History of the Vessel Gar Wood Boats, built in Marysville, Michigan, are regarded as some of the finest production luxury boats built before WWII.The 28 foot triple cockpit model was the flagship of the fleet and featured two forward cockpits, followed by an aft cockpit, often named the "mother in law seat". "Kiss Me Kate" was purchased from her original owner back in 1998 from Louisville, Kentucky as a well preserved, original example.She was comprehensively and professionally restored between 1998 and 2001, and the original Scripps 202 engine was balanced, blueprinted, and rebuilt at that time. All original hardware, instrumentation, numbers-matching seat frames, bow and stern poles, etc. Seat leather has been dyed to match the original option.
