Description:

Hey Raysoncraft fans. Listing my 1964 18' "Family Addition Ski Boat" for sale. I am the 3rd owner and purchased it in 1999 from a family that owned it for 27 years before that. I have 2 original brochures from the mid 60's with this model of boat on the cover. I was going to restore it but just bought a 1976 RC that needed far less work. I am in Washington state and no-one in the area specializes in this type of boat or gelcoat. Listed with no engine, transmission or gearbox.I no longer have the windshield, got tired of storing that about 5 years ago, wish I hadn't tossed. But I do have the original engine cover although I have not ever run it on. She came from Rudy's shop with a 425 Nailhead in it. The guy I purchased it from, installed a BBC which meant the distributor is forward, not aft. He had to modify the cover to make room for it, and glassed in a 70' era motorcycle helmet in front of the "Bubble" to make it work. The first thing I did to the boat was install a 9qt oil pan and had to raise the engine off the bottom to fit. That in turn caused clearance issues with the cover so I just took it off.10 years ago I cut out the original fuel tanks and had custom aluminum ones made to fit the original space. They came out nice but the fabricator missed the fill tube location and I made him re-work to fit the boat instead of re-working the boat to fit the tanks. The result was a weld patch on both tanks to fill the hole. I paid $1200 for the tanks at that time, cant imagine what it would cost now.Gel coat and seats are original from 1964 although you can see from the pics the spider cracking is bad. I got in with the majority of the cracks and have run it for 24 years as is. A few dock rashes and the bench seat has warn right thru the glass in a spot. Seats are in great condition with only needing a couple repairs over the years. The pictures show them dusty from being stored in the garage for the last 5 years and as I was cleaning them up yesterday, I was racing against an incoming storm and the weather won.It originally had a Crusader V-drive with 10% gears, that has been removed and is not available (being sold without a V-drive). It has a nice 12x14 left hand Nibral prop. I will include a BBC front mount, Glenwood style exhaust manifolds and 22 degree elbows if you are going to run a BBC (no bell-housing or transmission). The trailer that is included with the sale is the powder coated purple one in some of the pictures. It was powder-coated 20 years ago for a different boat and was restored with new axles, aluminum wheels, LED lights and 3/16" thick aluminum diamond plate accents. I put over $3K into the trailer at that time. When I decided to swap the trailer to this boat, I powder coated some of the boat hardware to match the trailer (foot peddle, cav plate, etc). My asking price is valued by figuring the tanks are worth $1000, trailer $2,000, and seats are $1,500, not to mention cav assembly and running gear. I do not want to part this out, hoping someone sees it's potential. I have had several people interested in parts (tanks, bow nosecone, cav assembly), and will start taking the boat apart and listing individual items after the first of the year if it does not sell here. On a side note, I go to southern Oregon 2-3 times a year and would be willing to negotiate pulling it down as far as Redding CA if someone from California or Arizona area is interested (with deposit). I have been into vintage vdrives for 35 years and this has been my favorite one but time for someone else to enjoy.
