Description:

SV Galadriel is USCG documented sailing vessel (cutter rig), 41’ LOA, and 38’ LOD. It has teak decks that were rebedded in 1999 - they are in need of recaulking, the screws into the deck resealed (dipped into 3M 4200, and rescrewed), and bungs applied. Deck has no leaks however. Mainsail probably needs to be replaced; last unfurled 8 years ago, and has been secured under Sunbrella since then. 110 Genoa (roller furling) and staysail have been stored in climate controlled storage facility.Port lights were removed in 2016 - deck core was removed 1” around all openings, and replaced with solid epoxy. Port lights were powder coated , and rebedded. Note the gasket material on the port openings will need to be replaced every couple of years.Aft deck locker hatch (again, teak) needs to be rebuilt - some plywood delaminating under the teak hatch resulting in sponginess. Includes Danforth, Bruce, and CQR anchors and 150 feet of chain.Aft portion of cockpit has some flex - recommend reinforcing it with marine ply and fiberglass from the underside. Light duty dinghy davits located on pushpit. No dinghy.I’ve replaced the countertop and sink. Sink still needs to be connected to thruhull. Have new faucet assembly, but it has not been installed yet. Cabin sole under sinks had been replaced with ply &glass , so no issues there. Galley stove (3 burner propane) was recently cleaned, and the propane hose replaced.Icebox needs new evaporator - it has a pinhole leak.Will need 2 size 31 starting batteries, and there are 2 battery boxes for the house batteries (it is currently configured for 4 - Trojan 6v T105’s, but they will need replacing).It has a 4 stage 50A charger, and a 2000 watt inverterIt has two gps systems - garmin and raymarine. Raymarine is connected to chart plotter in the cabin, while the garmin is a simpler unit located in the aft quarter berth. Also has a 4kw raymarine radar which can display in the cabin, or on a display mounted on deck. Has vhf and ssb in cabin, and a below deck autopilot that can be engaged from the wheel, or the nav station in the cabin. Chart plotter can also be used to monitor raymarine radar, or the display in the cockpit can be configured to show radar and/or chart plotter.Engine ran fine last time it was run - 6 years ago. Because of the dead batteries, I haven’t run it recently - it’s a Perkins 4*108, and was rebuilt in 2001. The transmission is a Borg-Warner velvet drive, and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. There are several on eBay for sale ($700-$1000). There’s a new oil transmission cooler on board, but it hasn’t been installed yet. I suspect the heat exchanger will also need to be replaced. There is a fuel polishing system in line between the engine and the fuel tanks with two racor filters/water separators - this also allows changing fuel filters while the engine is running Last, there’s a new bilge pump in the engine compartment , but due the battery situation, the outflow has been attached to a 110v automatic bilge pump located in the bilge.It’s a lot of work - but then it’s doable if you have the time and inclination - and you’ll be hard pressed to find a true blue water boat for less.
