In the 1980s there were several manufacturers of sailing vessels and Pearson always stood tall in the group. Even today they still are highly sought-after sailing vessels. This a great boat for coastal cruising and / or club racing. The Pearson 31 is a very nice sailing boat that does well in light air and heavy air. It is fast through the water and is quite responsive. It has good storage space for cruising and has two nice size cabins for sleeping. It has the desirable Yanmar diesel and 110-volt shore power with a battery charger. The Yanmar 2GM20F is freshwater-cooled. The engine hours are unknown although we're told by the owner the engine runs well and has been reliable. To push you through the water you have a two-blade fixed propeller. Down below you have 6' 2" of headroom with lots of interior space. A V-berth forward with door, port window, and opening hatch overhead sleeps 2, Port settee sleeps 1; starboard settee converts to double berth sleeps 2, aft starboard quarter berth sleeps 1. The seller put in a nice white-grey teak flooring that really looks sharp. If the gang is hungry, the galley includes a 2-burner propane gas stove/oven, ice box, sink with pressure hot/cold water, and ample storage space. The vessel comes with a separate head compartment with a manual pump marine toilet, sink, and hot/cold shower. Hanging locker outboard of V-berth and head. Other nice features include a folding dining table in the center, rebuilt cabin sole, 3 opening hatches, and 7 opening ports that provide excellent ventilation. Custom screens and the companionway steps remove for easy access to the engine. The vessel comes with a nice set of electronics which include Horizon VHF with RAM mike and GPS interface, Horizon 870 hand-held with MMSI, Raymarine ST60 Wind meter, Raymarine ST60 Depth and Knot meter, Compass, and an Autohelm.
