The Boston Whaler 18 Dauntless is the largest in its class. It has a slightly shallower V-hull design than the company's Outrage Series, making it easier to negotiate shallow water. Designed for lake and bay boating, the 18 Dauntless demonstrates enhanced stability over deeper V designs. The versatile layout also provides a secure platform for fishing or other watersport activities like wakeboarding or waterskiing. Standard seating features a reversible pilot seat with storage below. There's a standard integrated livewell to port with battery and oil storage to starboard. Options include two pedestal fishing seats, helm and passenger pedestal seats, trolling motor panel and a full width stern seat with locking ski or equipment storage inside. The center console layout, a Boston Whaler innovation, raised eyebrows back in 1961. By moving the helm from the starboard side to the center of the craft, boaters got better steering control and an even keel. With more room to move around, they got better fish-fighting capabilities. Now, countless manufacturers use this layout for their fishing boats. In 1996, Boston Whaler introduced the Accutrack hull.
