The LIVIN 2 is a 2004 model ISLAND PACKET 420 as produced by ISLAND PACKET YACHTS of Largo, FL. First introduced in 1999, the "420" was offered through 2005 and a total of 111 examples were built. The LIVIN 2 is hull #88 of this very successful series. Overview Hull & Deck ISLAND PACKET YACHTS (and the IP 420, of course) were produced to the standards to qualify for the European " CE" Rating: Category " A" - Ocean" This is the highest level achievable and facilitates getting insurance for possible " offshore" voyaging as well. Hull The ISLAND PACKET 420 was produced with the Company's proprietary " FULL FOIL KEEL" that provides enhanced directional stability, reduced draft, a reduced angle of heel and protection for the yacht's underbody, the rudder and the drive train. The " cutaway" underbody's spade rudder provides good control for the yacht and the reduced wetted surface does reduce parasitic drag as well. The LIVIN 2's bottom was stripped & expoxy barrier-coated in 2015. LIGHT IVORY Gelcoat finish Hand laid-up fiberglass hull w/ proprietary pressure-fed resin infusion & triaxial laminates with integral interior grid support structure Rub Rail, extruded VINYL molding w/ stainless steel striker plate " Scoop" Transom Bottom stripped & epoxy barrier-coated (note: 2015) BLACK Bottom paint Deck LIGHT IVORY Gelcoat finish Contrasting non-skid deck, Light Ivory & Light Tan gelcoat finishes and w/ the proprietary DURASHIELD gelcoat system (note: also for hull topsides & interior) " Diamond" molded non-skid pattern for enhanced non-slip effectiveness Deck laminate cored with proprietary POLYCORE (note: resin & microsphere matrix) Toe & Cap rails, teak (note: finished with 10 coats of varnish, Spring, 2022) (12) Chafe plates, stainless steel, on toe rails for dock lines at cleat locations Teak step plates at birdpit entrance, varnished (note: line boxes underneath for Coachroof.
