Description:
I have a 1993 Johnson 40 hp Tracker Outboard Motor with Electric Start and Throttle Control Module. I purchased this motor last fall with the objective of putting it on my 13' Boston Whaler. I didn't navigate to obtaining it on the watercraft as soon as possible and now have learnt my Whaler is a classic and only takes a short shaft so this one would not work. Was likewise told the motor is too much for the Whaler. I am new to outboard motors and am discovering the hard way. The motor ran fantastic when I bought it in Stockton last fall but has actually been sitting since then. It is extremely clean and turns over wonderful but I couldn't get it began. Probably fumbled the carburetor sitting too long without running. It is oil injected however the person I bought it from disconnected the car oiler and blended his own fuel so he would never ever need to stress over the oiler seizing the engine and failing.
