Up for sale right here is an extremely nice 1982 OMC Johnson 90 horse power outboard motor. This motor runs incredibly well, has 120 pounds of compression in all four cylinders. It does not smoke excessively and starts right up - each time. I have actually always run OMC/BRP artificial two-stroke oil in it - it is a pre-mix (50:1) motor, NOT a VRO !! It has been very well taken care of throughout the years, and was just utilized in fresh water until 2010. I have utilized it in the mid-Chesapeake Bay location here in Maryland for the last 4 years, and the water is brackish - however I flushed the motor out after every use, and the boat was always trailered. I have no idea how numerous hours it has on it, I just understand that it has not been dogged, and operates precisely as it should. I had this on a 1979 17 ft. Whaler, and it pushed it extremely well ... I inherited a more recent 115 Johnson, that was on a bad hull, so I made the swap - otherwise, I would still have this bolted on the Whaler's transom. It will certainly be a very good reliable motor for it's next owner. The motor itself is original, it has never been re-built. I was informed by the previous owner (from the Great Lakes area) that is was hardly ever used, and the periods up there are so short, it's not like purchasing a motor from Florida where you can assume it was used everyday - in SALT WATER !! - generally is was babied it's whole life, and I have actually continued the tradition. The only concern I had with the motor was that the cowling was weathered and sun faded, so I had it repainted at the local marina, and set up new decals - that's it. Has brand-new spark plugs, water pump, lower system serviced. Has power tilt and trim, 20" SHAFT. Simply needs a brand-new house.
